Little by little we carefully get them adjust from the whelpingbox onto the big world. With small steps we make their world bigger and add more stimulation.

The first three weeks they stay in the whelpingbox.
Mom can go in and out when ever she wants to
and decide for herself how long and how often she stays with her pups.
Most of the time she stays with them these first three weeks almost all the time.
When the pups have opened their eyes and react on each other, us and everything else that is around them,
they start to "walk" a little
and then they go to a bigger space,
but still with the protection of closed walls.

Now they have a place to play, a place to eat and a place to go potty.

When they are 4 weeks old, we move them once more, now onto the puppy-pen.
They can see everything that's happening around them.
Mom still can decide when and how long she wants to be with her kids.

We have crates (without the doors) in the puppy-pen where they can sleep.
They always think it's a wonderful, cosy, warm and safe "bed"!
Therefor our puppies are used to sleep in a crate when they leave us.

Of course they also get dailey run of the house,
and when the weather is nice enough they can play and run in the yard.
