Every owner of one or more dogs (what ever breed it is) should know something about how dogs learn and how to train them.
Although Havanese are very "easy" dogs, that learn so quickly, thank goodness they still act like DOGS! And therefor you must treat them like real dogs. You should know how behaviour develops, and if it is an unwanted behavior what to do about it.
We are no supporters of the "traditional" training! Havanese don't need corrections or punishment!! They just want to please you, but you have to tell them how they can do that.
So Havanese and "Clicker Training" are well matched!
Clicker Training, also called "Click & Treat" Training, is a term to describe a type of training that uses a conditioned reinforcer, usually a clicker, to mark behavior that will be rewarded. Clicker Training uses the SCIENCE of Operant Conditioning, which notes that behaviors that are rewarded are made stronger and will occur more frequently.
